In this thought be comforted...

I woke up this morning with mixed feelings about life, God etc. I've often asked myself time and again, "Why does God allow his beloved children to go through trials?"

You lose that well paying job, someone breaks your heart again!, you' re currently facing eviction & you have no where to source for funds to move to a new apartment and so on , so you ask yourself, 'why me' again?

Can't we do without trials in our lives? The answer is sadly 'NO'. Truth is, we can never grow in strength and character without trials; in trials we discover new aspects of ourselves, we realize strengths that we never knew we had, we become resilient and our creative side is usually stirred up and heightened, we become wiser and most times draw closer to God. Yes! most times, trials come to catch our attention and focus it on God.  We are most times carried away with the frivolities of this life, that we need this 'shock therapy' to focus us on what's most important - GOD.It's not usually a palatable time but as Gold goes through fire to get better, we usually come out better for it.

I've had & still have my share of trials...some are easy to bear, while some are hard to endure but as Yolanda Adams (a gospel artiste) aptly puts in one of her songs: "...In the middle of what seems to be your darkest hour, hold fast your heart and be assured. For this too shall pass, like every night that's come before it. He'll never give you more than you can bear..."

In this thought be comforted...

Ciao

... And remember that through every test and trial, God has promised us victory. We could go thru fire, but we wont stay in it. We wont be consumed by it. We'll just be better for it.

  2. We should consider it pure joy when we face many trials and temptations because the testing of our faith develops perseverance and perseverance must become mature and complete so we lack nothing.
